by a small group of plumbers, who thought the industry, their profession, and their customers should be protected. In 1931 they incorporated and formed this non-profit organization.
These men were -
William J. Wilson
August C. Kriger
William F. Borg
Alfred Hoffman
August P. Walters
Together these men set forth by-laws for their new endeavor. The objectives they set out to follow were:
The encouragement of sanitary laws and the enforcement thereof;
The advancement of sanitation;
The improvement of plumbing fixtures and the installation thereof;
The education in the craft of sanitation and better methods of doing business;
The establishment of harmonious relations between the master plumbers: journeymen plumbers, manufacturers, wholesalers and the public;
The education of the apprentice in the plumbing trade;
These objectives set forth in 1931 remain our core objectives today. Everything we do or propose to do is guided by the vision of these men.
